The Plain of Existence
The Plain
The problem
with human religion is not that it is without a clue, it is that each
one only has bits and pieces of the whole picture. Each religion has a
little bit of the picture, enough to snag a few followers, but not
enough to convert the population of the world. Each religion touts
itself as the truth, but unlike gravity, no religion has proven to be
such a truth. With each claim, they only expose themselves further as
false purveyors of hope.
Each of us
exists on multiple Plains, Plains which for various reasons work
together, yet each exists in conflict. Take the commute to work for
example. On the Human Plain, we intellectually understand the need for
careful driving, observing the traffic laws and doing our best to insure
that no harm come to our self, our passengers or our fellow commuters.
Why is it then that so many of us completely ignore this intellectual
and moral responsibility and speed down the road, swerving in and out of
traffic? This is because there are other Plains at work. We will claim
it is because we just want to get to our destination, and yes, in some
cases, this is valid. But in most cases, we are driven by some
unforeseen force to simply get somewhere that we know exists, but at
which we never seem to arrive. This, is the Plain of Existence. The
place where all sentient souls exist together. A place that each of us
knows from birth, but yet spends a lifetime trying to find through
religion, technology, mythology, science and any other explanation that
might fill the void left behind from time long past.
At first I
did not understand. To human consciousness the Plain appears as a simple
pond. It stretches to eternity, but it is a pond nonetheless. I found I
could visit this place. At first it took great effort to get there after
the initial discovery. After a time however, it became easier. I came to
understand that all souls exist in the Plain and that the smoothness or
turbulence of the pond is tied to those souls. Each ripple represents
turbulence in a soul. The more ripples, the more souls experiencing
turbulence. Each soul is part of the Greater Body. When enough souls
experience turbulence, the Body as whole suffers.
It is rare
for living beings to find the Plain, but it does happen. For me it
helped solidify thoughts that have always been with me. It is time to
share my thoughts.
As I set
forth to articulate these thoughts, I realize that it must be approached
in much the same fashion as one would approach writing a book.
In my mind
I see a battle ongoing for control over humanity. The battle has raged
for millennia and has been perpetrated by well-known figures. Mohammed,
Buddha, Jesus and other historical religious figures. I see being called
God as being one of the last remaining from a race of advanced beings
sent out to seed planets in the hope that one might rise to the
greatness that their race had achieved, without experiencing the
pitfalls that ultimately brought about the demise of that race.
After Earth
was seeded and man evolved, one of the "Prophets" tried to wrestle
humanity away from man. This "Prophet" created a mythology, a religion,
used to keep man in line. As time went on, other "Prophets" put their
mythology out there, and the BATTLES began. These BATTLES continue
today.
The
"Prophets" while appearing to hold interest in the advancement of man's
spirituality, are actually using this as a distraction from their true
purpose...
To get back to the Plain…
Millennia
ago, these "Prophets" were just like everyone else. They lived, they
died, and they discovered the Plain. It was this discovery that drove
them. Once they knew of the Plain, they wanted to control it. After a
time of tolerance, the "Body" rejected the "Prophets," casting them out.
As cast outs they were no longer part of the Plain. For the first time,
they understood what the Plain meant because they were no longer part of
it. They vowed to get back and determined if they could conquer humanity
they could conquer/control the Plain. If they are able to control the
mind/heart/SOUL, they reasoned they could control the PLAIN.
The Plain
represents the ultimate in belonging. Every person is driven to belong
to something. This drive will cause us to do irrational things,
sometimes even illegal things. What we don't realize is that we already
belong to something: The Plain, and in turn, the BODY. When the
"Prophets" were cast out, the found they no longer felt that sense of
belonging that once provided them with the warm sense of security. As
with all sentient beings, this drive to belong drove them over the edge
of rationality, causing the religious wars to follow their being cast
out.
Thus wars
have raged across the universe. Not only Earth, but everywhere sentient
beings exist because the Plain is universal. (Thought: Perhaps the Plain
IS the universe. To command the Plain would be to rule the universe).
Since the
dawn of time, beings have reasoned that "God has a plan, or reason."
When catastrophe strikes, in actuality, it is the Plain that is "God."
not everyone in the Plain is good and when evil strikes, it is those
life forces acting in concert with a "Prophet" that represent the
"reason."
We, ALL
life in the Plain, are God. The Plain spans the universe and as such,
when the collective conscience acts, it is seen as an act of God.
Thus is
the goal of the "Prophets." It is their belief that if they can get
enough followers, they can control the Plain, and by extension, the
collective conscience.
